TASTING
PPEARANCE
A clean, cherry-red colour.
NOSE
Intense aromas of ripe black fruits, such as blackberries and plums. Subtle balsamic hints come through mingling with the characteristic liquorice notes of the Tempranillo grape, followed by toasty, smoky, vanilla hints that come from the wine’s ageing in American oak barrels.
MOUTH
This is a powerful wine with a fleshy entry on the palate and very good balance between tannins and acidity. The mouth-feel is one of volume and abundant round tannins that fill the mouth with fruit flavour. The wine becomes smoother as it develops towards a long, pleasant finish with hints of roasted coffee beans and liquorice coming through.

VINEYARD AND PRODUCTION
DESCRIPTION
Selected from our own vineyards planted with different exposures at 750 metres altitude in the areas of Roa and La Horra.
SURFACE AREA
15 hectares.
SOIL
Shallow, heterogeneous soils with high clay content and the presence of sands.
CLIMATE
Very harsh, long, cold winters and short, dry, hot summers.
AGEING
The wine is aged at least 12 months at the winery in different capacity barrels, such as 225- litre barriques, 500-litre casks and 5,000-litre foudres with different proportions of French and American oak. It is then aged in bottle until its release onto the market.
