Located in Roa, Burgos, and surrounded by a vast vineyard of tempranillo that stretches further than the eye can see, sits Condado de Haza, a Castilian château that pays tribute to the terroir. To improve its wines, the structure of this winery, which covers 200 hectares of vineyards, was designed by digging into a hill, thus also creating a bottle cellar located in a tunnel at a depth of almost 30 metres that enables the storage of wines in optimal temperature and moisture conditions.

Since 1993, Condado de Haza has stood as a 360º estate, where the entire life cycle of the wine takes place, resulting in several types of wine with unique and exceptional character thanks to the heterogeneous soils of the terroir, with a prevalence of clay soils and the presence of sand. Also, with a strong engagement with the surrounding environment, Condado de Haza commits to 100% organic production.

Thanks to its excellent wines, in 2008, the prestigious magazine Wine Spectator distinguished Condado de Haza Crianza as one of the ‘Top 100 Wines’ in the world.

EXPERIENCES WINERY CONDADO DE HAZA

On the banks of the Douro River, Familia Fernández Rivera planted the first vineyards of the Condado de Haza winery in 1988, where it built a Castilian château. With its experiencies, El Château promises to immerse visitors in an unrivalled environment surrounded by beautiful vines in order to learn about the complete process of wine production and discover the passion that its creators put into every bottle through artisanal processes and the care for the fruit.
