Dehesa la Granja 2019

If there’s one characteristic that differentiates Dehesa de la Granja from any other red wine, it’s the fact that it has been aged in the extensive caves of the cellar dug out of stone in the 18th century, just under the modern production facilities.

Rated with 93 points by James Suckling.

WINERY: Dehesa La Granja
BRAND: Dehesa la Granja
ALCOHOL CONTENT: 14,5%
VARIETY: 100% Tempranillo
TASTING NOTES
LOOK: Mature picota cherry red colour, with an intense garnet rim and covered in layers.
SMELL: Subtle notes of ripe black fruit jam, combined with delicate toasted notes, which meld perfectly with subtle hints of cocoa and some balsamic hints.
TASTE: The wine is powerful in the mouth, flavourful, meaty and well structured. Endowed with ripe, sweet and high-quality tannins that give it breadth and volume and fill the palate. Bursting with the aromas of ripe fruit in the middle and integrated with the flavour of exquisite wood. Long persistent finish, marked by hints of liquor-infused cherries.
SERVING TEMPERATURE: 14 ºC–16 ºC.
CONSUMPTION: Due to its natural production process, it is important to place the bottle in an upright position an hour before opening it. It is advisable to uncork the bottle half an hour before decanting it. Serve twenty minutes after oxygenating in the decanter.
PAIRINGS: The perfect accompaniment to red meat, such as veal tenderloin with mustard in red wine. It also goes perfectly with feathered game dishes such as stewed squab with mushrooms and truffles or duck with blueberry sauce.
